Gavin is the Director of Mission for the Evangelical Alliance. Formerly National Director of Youth for Christ, Gavin is a gifted communicator to young people and has built his ministry around an uncompromising approach to evangelism. Former goalkeeping protégé and passionate AFC Wimbledon fan, Gavin is married to Anne and they have two children.
In 2019, we’re excited to be putting young people on the stand. If we’re going to see the movement amongst young people we crave, God will be raising up leaders in this generation who will set the pace. Making space for them at the Youth Evangelism Conference is essential.
Azande is the new head of Youth Alpha in the UK. She enjoys working alongside youth leaders, using Youth Alpha to build up youth ministries across the UK. Azande’s passionate about seeing young people meet with Jesus and as a result become evangelists and the influencers in their worlds, and wants to keep growing a platform for young people to lead with love as they set the culture for the years to come.
Jimmy is the National Youth Evangelism Officer for the Church of England, responsible for promoting and resourcing youth evangelism across the country. Jimmy is based in London and is married to Sarah. As well as being passionate about youth ministry and evangelism, he is a keen spurs fan, a running enthusiast, and a passionate advocate of Apple products
Dan is the Assistant National Director of Pais UK and is the Youth Pastor at Life Church Lancashire. Dan is passionate about seeing a generation of young people rising up to live fearlessly for Jesus. He loves music, Burnley FC and a decent coffee.
Grace Wheeler is the National Evangelist for Youth for Christ and leads the Evangelism Academy along with Mark Greenwood for young people who want to share their faith both through proclamation and relationship. Grace has also launched Sync Coach, a brand new YouTube channel which explores Evangelism whilst having a heap of fun. Grace is married to Nathan and they have a dog called Bailey. In her spare time Grace loves being with friends, likes the occasionally caramel latte and taking Bailey for walks.
As a young gay man, David Bennett saw Christianity as an enemy to freedom for LGBTQI people, and his early experiences with prejudice and homophobia led him to become an anti-Christian gay activist. But when Jesus came into his life in a highly unexpected way, he was led down a path he never would have predicted or imagined.
David Bennett is from Sydney, Australia, and is reading for a DPhil (PhD) in theology at the University of Oxford. He is a fellow at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and holds an Oxford postgraduate degree in theology, as well as a master’s degree in analytic theology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
Ben Jack leads Advance: The Evangelist Movement at The Message Trust. Advance is committed to the equipping and multiplication of preaching evangelists in the UK and beyond, and is building towards a year of intentional evangelism through the church in the UK in 2020. Ben travels the world to preach the gospel and inspire the church with a deeper understanding of the good news. He is also known as award-winning DJ Galactus Jack, is the author of two and a half books, and will never be swayed from believing that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the greatest film of all time.
Bethan works at Youth for Christ in the resources department; which has a heart to see young people’s lives changed by Jesus through the equipping of churches and youth-workers. She wants to see each young person live a life of hope and joy and also has a fondness of Mexican food, Netflix, the beach and dogs.
Ben works for Scripture Union as the regional team leader for the South East of England. Ben is a passionate evangelist who wants to see the local church empowered to take out the good news of Jesus to the next generation. Just don’t get him started on Cricket unless you want to talk about it for hours!
Bryony is married to Pete and together they lead the Pais Movement in the British Isles. Her passion is for people to experience the depths of God’s unconditional love and for that experience to compel them to show and share that love with the world around them. She is an intelligent and engaging communicator whose passion for Jesus and His Church is evident through her teaching, preaching and training. Bryony & Pete also serve on the Senior Leadership Team of of their local church and live in rural Lancashire with their two daughters Isabella and Jasmine.
Mat Walls is a gifted communicator, evangelism trainer and Gospel speaker. He has worked at The Message Trust for 9 years and was recently appointed the new head of Message Wales. Mat also helps run Advance2020, a joint evangelism strategy to reach millions with the Gospel in 2020.
